Iplex has developed Restrain™ a PVC sewer pipe designed specifically for gravity sewer applications using trenchless techniques and for the installation, repair or replacement of underground infrastructure. With an easy to assemble threaded socket and spigot joint, together with a rubber seal ring, Restrain™ brings the advantages of PVC pipe systems to the trenchless industry. Restrain™ can be used in the following applications:
- Gravity sewer applications installed by trenchless methodology, including static pipe bursting, horizontal directional drilling, auger boring, guided boring, micro tunnelling and slip lining/in-line replacement (pipe reaming)
- Domestic house drains
- Urban gravity sewer mains
- Industrial gravity discharge mains

Easy to Install
A threaded socket and spigot joint make RESTRAIN™ easy to assemble. It requires no special tools or training and no solvent cement or fusion welding is required. Its ease of installation provides for fast, efficient sewer lateral replacement.
Low Environmental Impact
Restrain™ is a great alternative when there are time and space restrictions or instances where projects need to consider the scale of reinstatement costs due to the impact caused by traditional open trenching methods.
Designed for Trenchless
Restrain™ sewer pipe can be installed by a number of trenchless methods including horizontal directional drilling, static pipe bursting, micro tunnelling and slip lining to name a few.
Bi-directional
Restrain™ pipe can be pushed or pulled into place depending on installation methodology.
Versatile
Compatible with industry standard PVC sewer and stormwater fittings including the Iplex Novadrain range, allowing a range of standard installation practises to be used. It is suitable for use in a range of applications including gravity sewer and gravity stormwater projects.
Customisable
Pipe lengths can be customised to suit your installation/project requirements. Joints can be undone and pipe re-used if necessary.
